Facebook launched games on Messenger and introduced Instant Games platform to developers just over a year ago. To date, the platform has over 70 games from more than 100 developers which are available world wide.

Now to celebrate the one year completion of Games On Messenger, Facebook has rolled out new games and features to the platform.

First up the new features, Messenger is getting the ability of live streaming games to friends and engage in conversations. To start a live stream session, while playing a game you need to tap on the camera icon located in the up right corner of the game. 

Once selected you can choose the audience you want to broadcast to and add a short description to describe the video.  To start recording, just press the “Start Live Video” button. Once the broadcast ends the video will be published to your Page or profile  and you also have the option to remove the video post at any time. This feature will roll out stating today.

The next feature coming to Messenger Games is the ability to play game while video chatting with your friends. This feature will be introduced early next year, and Words With Friends from Zynga will be the first game to use it.

As for the games, the popular Angry Birds and Tetris game built for the Messenger will launch globally in early 2018.  Both games are built by CoolGames, an Instant Games platform developer. In the coming weeks and months, Messenger will get more games including Sonic Jump (Sega), Disney Tsum (Line) and Puzzle & Dragons.
